RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Marcus Lewis scored 20 points and Glenn Cosey 19 as Eastern Kentucky rode a big first half to an 84-73 victory over North Carolina A&T on Wednesday night.

The Colonels (8-4) were up 44-26 at halftime after shooting 63 percent. The Aggies (3-8) committed 14 turnovers in that half, which the Colonels, third in the nation in steals, turned into 24 points.

The Aggies suffered from poor 3-point shooting, making 3 of 15 attempts. They still managed to get within eight points twice in the second half, including with 1:48 left, but a 3-pointer and free throw by Lewis put the game out reach.

The Colonels were outrebounded 36-18 but overcame that with the help of 46.4 percent 3-point shooting (13 of 28).

Bruce Beckford and Lamont Middleton led the Aggies with 21 points apiece.

EKU tied a program record with its 21st straight home nonconference victory.
