San Jose State beats UC Davis 89-85 in 3 OTs

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Devante Wilson scored San Jose State’s last six points in the third overtime as the Spartans defeated UC Davis 89-85 on Wednesday night.

Isaac Thornton gave the Spartans an 83-81 lead with a three-point play. Wilson then hit 6 of 8 free throws.

The Spartans (4-6) trailed by 19 with 14:32 left in regulation. They took their first lead on Wilson’s 3-pointer with 1:17 left. Tied at 65, SJSU’s Rashad Muhammad missed a 3-pointer as time ran out. SJSU’s Isaac Thornton missed a 3 at the end of the first overtime tied at 74. The second overtime ended 80-80 after the Aggies’ Darius Graham made 1 of 2 free throws with 3 seconds left.

Muhammad scored 28 points and Wilson 22, both career highs.

Corey Hawkins scored 18 points to lead six Aggies in double figures. UC Davis (3-9), 1-2 in overtime this season, has lost seven straight.
