Tre Eisenhut of Fort Vancouver boys basketball was voted The Columbian’s high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 14.

Eisenhut collected 48 percent of the 1,411 votes cast by fans to beat out Jamie Nolta of Union gymnastics, who had 41 percent.

Eisenhunt averaged 20 points a game last week, as the Trappers won two out of three games.

The other nominees were Kasey Calwell of Camas swimming, Madison Crockett of Skyview bowling and Tyler Dady of Battle Ground wrestling.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
