Dunk lifts CS Northridge past Texas A&M-CC, 67-66

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Stephen Maxwell’s dunk with 1:18 left lifted Cal State-Northridge to a 67-66 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday night.

Maxwell converted a pair of free throws to give CS Northridge a six point lead with 3:42 to play, but the Islanders got six straight points from Johnathan Jordan and a 3-pointer from Brandon Pyle to take a 66-65 lead with 1:37 left.

Both Jordan and Rashawn Thomas missed jumpers in the final minute.

Josh Greene and Stephan Hicks each scored 18 points to lead the Matadors (6-5). Aaron Parks added 12 points off the bench and Maxwell finished with 11. CS Northridge shot 23 of 44 from the field (52.3 percent).
