Boudia wins 3-meter title at US Winter Nationals

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — David Boudia won the 3-meter title at the U.S. Diving Winter Nationals on Saturday, when three other titles were decided.

Samantha Bromberg of Bexley, Ohio, won the 10-meter title. She and Boudia of Noblesville, Ind., qualified to represent the U.S. at next year’s FINA World Cup.

Nick McCrory of Chapel Hill, N.C., who finished second on 3-meter, and Anna James of Midland, Texas, who was second on 10-meter also earned World Cup spots.

Boudia earned his 17th career national title and his first on 3-meter. He totaled 1,442.80 points over three rounds to edge McCrory by 8.55 points. Four-time Olympian Troy Dumais of Ventura, Calif., was third at 1,325.20. Sam Dorman of Tempe, Ariz., was fourth at 1,270.15.
