CS Northridge holds off Idaho for 79-69 win

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Josh Greene scored five of his 17 points in the final 56 seconds as Cal State Northridge held off Idaho for a 79-69 victory Sunday night.

Glen Dean scored 8 of his 10 point during a 12-2 spurt by Idaho (6-7), which was capped by a Stephen Madison dunk and gave the Vandals a 63-61 lead. Cal State Northridge (7-5), however, closed the game with an 18-6 run, making 12 of 14 free throws in the final 4:21.

The Matadors out-rebounded Idaho 47-33 and limited the Vandals to 39.1 percent (25 of 64) shooting.

Stephan Hicks scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win. Stephen Maxwell added 15 points and 11 boards and Tre Hale-Edmerson finished with 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.

Stephen Madison paced Idaho with 17 points and eight rebounds. Connor Hill scored 12 and Sekou Wiggs 11.
