ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia strong safety Josh Harvey-Clemons’ second suspension of the season will prevent him from playing in the No. 23 Bulldogs’ Gator Bowl game against Nebraska.

Harvey-Clemons also was suspended for Georgia’s opening game against Clemson.

Harvey-Clemons and backup cornerback Sheldon Dawson were suspended by coach Mark Richt on Monday for the Jan. 1 bowl game for undisclosed violations of team rules. The suspensions were announced in a one-sentence statement.

Harvey-Clemons has 66 tackles, third on the team, with an interception and a team-leading three fumble recoveries. Dawson has 13 tackles.
