SEATTLE — A Seattle teenager’s glasses may have saved her life in a drive-by shooting.

The Seattle Police Department said Sunday that a 16-year-old girl was lying on a couch inside her southeast Seattle residence when gunfire erupted Saturday night.

Authorities say a bullet struck the bridge of the girl’s glasses and was apparently deflected away. The glasses broke, but the girl was not seriously injured.

She was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Several people were inside the home during the drive-by shooting, but no one else was hurt.

Investigators believe the teenager was not the intended victim. Gang detectives are investigating.
