NEW OREANS, La. (AP) — Louis Dabney scored 20 points and Jonathan Stark hit clutch free throws as Tulane edged Northeastern 65-62 on Sunday night.

Stark scored 12 points and Jay Hook added 11 for Tulane.

Tulane (7-6) led by only one point at the half, 26-25, despite Northeastern (3-9) shooting just 32 percent from the field. Tulane fared better shooting from the floor, but only had one free throw while Northeastern had 15 attempts from the line.

In the second half Tulane and Northeastern picked up the scoring pace, swapping leads often before Tulane edged ahead by five (62-57) with two minutes left.

A David Walker dunk and Marco Banegas-Flores’ post-steal layup got Northeastern to within one at 62-61, but Tulane’s Stark hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final 32 seconds to hold on for the win.

Walker led Northeastern with 18 points and Zach Stahl picked up 16.
