Letter: Expense of book is more waste

Is Sen. Tom Coburn’s, R-Okla., report “Wastebook” also a waste of government money? As reported editorially Dec. 20, “A Waste of our Money: Book highlighting dubious government spending is sure to spur outrage,” Coburn has released a book on government waste. However, nowhere in the book did I find a statement that the book was produced without taxpayer money. Therefore, I assume that taxpayer funds were spent to research the book (all 930 footnotes, too) and to print it.

Shouldn’t this rate a listing as a major waste of government money?
