Letter: Voice of reason must stay on board

This is an open plea to Steve Stuart, who might or might not run for Clark County commissioner, reported in the Dec. 22 story “Stuart’s big decision.” Please, do run again. Please.

We need someone to balance the impracticalities of the M&M vaudeville show. If the M&M brotherhood of Commissioners David Madore and Tom Mielke had a stronger sense of “doing the right thing,” if they had a clear sense of ethics, then maybe I would not be so worried. But they are not public servants in the highest meaning of the word. They want to ramrod their vision of government down our throats.

The latest on state Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, whom I consider highly mediocre, had me appalled (All Politics Is Local blog, Dec. 22). According to the “Wikipedia battlefield” blog post, someone made changes on Nov. 25 to Benton’s Wikipedia page to cast the senator in a better light. Sheesh. He must be thin skinned and thick skulled.

Between M&M and Benton, we have a train wreck happening, and the name of the train is the MM&B.
