ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) — Warm weather has forced FIS to cancel two World Cup slaloms that were to be held in Zagreb in the first week of January.

As temperatures are forecast to remain high, FIS said Saturday that Croatian organizers won’t be able to prepare the Crveni Spust course with enough snow. The women’s event was scheduled for next Saturday, followed by the men’s night race two days later.

The international ski federation says it “is working towards finding an alternative venue for these competitions.”

Earlier, the Munich city event scheduled for Jan. 1 had been called off for lack of snow.
