Boys basketball: Mountain View (Ore.) 47, Evergreen 46

A layup at the buzzer gave the Cougars from Bend the championship of the Summit Holiday Hoopfest.

Robert Franks, who scored a team-high 19 points for Evergreen, had put the Plainsmen ahead by one with eight seconds remaining.

“They just went coast-to-coast and got to the basket for a layup with no time remaining,” Evergreen coach Brian Witherspoon said.

Franks also had nine rebounds. Jahmil Johnson scored 16 points and had three assists.
