Suspected intoxicated driver causes 3-car crash in Vancouver

A man cited on suspicision of driving under the influence of intoxicants ran a stop light and caused a three-vehicle crash Monday morning in Vancouver, according to Washington State Patrol.

Branden Clark Savage, 21, of Vancouver was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry south on Northeast 42nd Avenue about 4:15 a.m. when, troopers say, he ran the stop light at state Highway 500.

Two westbound vehicles were involved in the crash. A 2005 Jeep Cherokee crashing into the Camry, and the Camry crashed into a 2005 Toyota RAV4.

Clark Savage and the driver of the RAV4, Joann Taitingfong, 32, of Vancouver, were both injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Clark Savage was listed in satisfactory condition Monday evening. Taitingfong was discharged from the hospital on Monday.

A trooper cited Clark Savage on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
