Letter: History tends to repeat itself

The Columbian

In response to Ellen Putman’s Dec. 26 letter “Jewish life is just fine in the U.S.A.,” German Jews swore allegiance to the state until Adolf Hitler rose to power and 6 million European Jews were exterminated. There was no Israel to come to their aid. When that horror drifted to the shores of America, American Jewry kept mum. When America turned away a shipload or refugees from its shores, American Jewry kept mum.

Jew hatred is rising due to the Muslim jihadist movement. God bless the state of Israel to stand up for the rest of its brethren, wherever they may be.
