NEW YORK (AP) — Saturday’s Charm, the 7-5 favorite, cruised to a 512 length win over Reserved Quality on Friday in the $64,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.
The 4-year-old took advantage of a class drop to earn his third win in eight starts for trainer Steve Asmussen. He finished second and third in his previous two races, a pair of stakes at Aqueduct.
Saturday’s Charm took command on a four-wide sweep turning for home with Junior Alvarado aboard. The time was 1:10.29 for the six furlongs. Saturday’s Charm paid $4.90, $3 and $2.10. Reserved Quality returned $15.40 and 5.70 as the longest price in the race at 23-1 while Dr Disco paid $5.10 to show.
