Lehigh uses hot start to defeat Army 85-76

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Mackey McKnight scored 21 points and Lehigh shot 62.1 percent in the first half en route to an 85-76 Patriot League victory over Army on Sunday.

The Mountain Hawks (16-5, 6-1) led by as many as 22 points in the first half and 47-31 at halftime after making 18 of 29 shots, including 5 of 9 on 3-pointers. Anthony D’Orazio scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half and had 10 rebounds in the game.

The Black Knights (10-12, 3-4), who started five freshmen for the third straight game, got within five points, 68-63, with 6:57 remaining in the game, but Lehigh was able to trade baskets with them the rest of the way.

Gabe Knutson scored 18 points for Lehigh, which is tied with Bucknell for the conference lead.

Kyle Toth scored 20 points to pace Army, and Ella Ellis came off the bench to score 14.
