BALTIMORE (AP) — Pendarvis Williams had a game-high 22 points to lift Norfolk State past Morgan state 64-59 Monday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
Brandon Goode added 12 points for the Spartans (14-10, 9-0), who have won eight straight games.
Trailing 59-54 with 3 minutes to play, DeWayne Jackson made a layup to cut the deficit to 59-56, and then Tauron Bailey made a free throw to bring the Bears within two, 59-57, with 2:04 remaining.
After Williams’ layup with 30 seconds left pushed Norfolk State’s lead to 61-57, Justin Black made a jumper with 24 seconds left to bring the Bears back within two, 61-59.
