MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen’s first recruiting class is highlighted by a pair of defensive ends from suburban Milwaukee.

Alec James of Brookfield East and Chikwe Obasih (CHEEK’-way oh-BASH’-ee) from Brookfield Central are among six players from Wisconsin who signed national letters of intent with the Badgers on Wednesday, about two months after coach Bret Bielema left for Arkansas. Andersen and his staff were able to retain most of the prospects who initially committed before Bielema’s departure.

Another standout in the group is Corey Clement, who could be the next great Badgers running back from south New Jersey. Clement played at Glassboro High School, not far from where former Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne grew up. Clement will help fill the void created by the departure of Montee Ball.
