VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) — Mark Nwakamma scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half as Hartford pulled away from Binghamton 76-62 Wednesday night to sweep the season series.

The Hawks (13-10, 6-4 America East Conference), who also defeated the Bearcats 71-68 on Jan. 2, are off to their best 10-game start in league play since 2007-08.

After a back-and-forth first half, Hartford led 38-36 at the break, then the game was knotted three more times, the last time at 46 with 16:02 left.

John Peterson’s 3-pointer, Nwakamma’s dunk and Nate Sikma’s two free throws pushed the Hawks ahead.

Nwakamma made 7 of 8 foul shots and dunked in the last 2:56 to help Hartford maintain a double-digit lead.

John Peterson added 16 points and Wes Cole contributed 12 on four 3-pointers for the Hawks.

Jordan Reed’s 17 points led the Bearcats (3-20, 1-9), who have lost 16 of their past 17.
