Arnada: Howard Turner, owner of Vancouver-based Hamilton Wholesale, was picked last month to join Portland Rescue Mission's board of directors.

Arnada — Vancouver businessman Howard Turner was picked last month to join Portland Rescue Mission's six-member board of directors. Turner is the founder and owner of Vancouver-based printing supplies broker Hamilton Wholesale. Portland Rescue Mission employees more than 80 staff and has a team of nearly 2,000 volunteers. The agency provides help including 24-hour emergency shelter, restrooms, mail opportunities and clothing to homeless people and others in need. The mission reports serving more than 262,000 meals in 2012.
