Yacolt Burn State Forest — The state Department of Natural Resources will build two new trailheads for hikers and mountain bikers near the Larch Corrections Center in the Yacolt Burn State Forest. The trailheads will include parking lots and restrooms. According to recreation spokeswoman Diana Lofflin, the upper trailhead will be along the forest management road L-1511 and the lower trailhead will be accessed from forest management road L-1000N. The state is waiting for permits from Clark County and expects to do the work this summer.
