Saint Mary’s routs Santa Clara 84-63

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Beau Levesque scored 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting including six 3-pointers, grabbed six rebounds and had four assists to lead Saint Mary’s (Cal) to a 84-63 rout over Santa Clara.

Saint Mary’s (20-4, 9-1 West Coast) took a 17-8 lead in the first 8 minutes of the game capped off by a Levesque 3-pointer and never looked back.

Brad Waldow had 14 points and eight rebounds, Mitchell Young chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds and the Gaels shot 55.6 percent from the field. Saint Mary’s hit 12 3-pointers and were 12 of 14 from the free-throw line.

The Gaels received 39 points off the bench compared to Santa Clara’s bench, which managed to score only eight.

Evan Roquemore led Santa Clara (17-8, 5-5) with 18 points, hitting 8 of 9 from the line. Raymond Cowels III had 14 points and Marc Trasolini added 13 points and five rebounds.
