The Wildcats extended their season with a close victory over Montesano in the 1A district tournament game at Chehalis.

AJ Myers had 21 points and 10 rebounds for La Center (15-8).

“It was my first good game all season,” Myers said. “As a team we were quick when we needed to be.”

La Center led 30-20 at the half, but Montesano wouldn’t go away and chipped at the lead until the final buzzer. Myers made four free throws down the stretch to help seal the win.

Wyatt Aguirre had 13 points for La Center, who will face Woodland in a loser-out game on Wednesday in Kelso.
