Carter sets career scoring mark for CS Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Stephon Carter became the career scoring leader at Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night, sparking an 82-71 victory over Cal State San Marcos.

A field goal with 12:13 left in the game put Carter over the top. He finished with 23 points to give him 1,530 for his career, surpassing the previous mark of 1,521, by Kenny Warren.

Cal State Bakersfield raised its record to 9-15 as an independent as Brandon Barnes scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Trevor White scored 14 points and Javante Manor added 12.

Cal State San Marcos classified this game as an exhibition. It was led by Danny Redmon, who scored 16 points. Jose Rivera scored 11 and Quincy Larson added 10.
