Charleston Southern easily handles Campbell 86-68

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Saah Nimley scored 20 points and Arlon Harper added 17 to lead Charleston Southern to an 86-68 win over Campbell on Saturday.

Mathiang Muo finished with 16 points for the Buccaneers (13-8, 8-2 Big South Conference), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Paul Gombwer had 10 points and six rebounds.

With a 24-19 lead, Charleston Southern outscored the Fighting Camels 22-6 in the first half to take a 21-point lead. The Buccaneers went into halftime with a 49-25 advantage after Harper’s buzzer beating 3-pointer.

Charleston Southern continued its dominance in the second half, leading by as many as 33 points.

Marvelle Harris scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds for Campbell (10-15, 5-6), which lost its fifth straight game. Trey Freeman had 13 points and five assists, and D.J. Mason had 12 points.

Charleston Southern knocked down 11 3-pointers, and outrebounded the Fighting Camels 40-26.
