Koch scores 19 as Elon tops Furman 64-60

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Sebastian Koch shot a perfect 6 of 6 for a team-high 19 points as Elon topped Furman 64-60 Saturday in a Southern Conference game.

Ryley Beaumont scored 15 points and Tanner Samson added 13 for Elon (15-8, 8-3), which has won eight of its last nine games.

After Koch’s jumper tied the game at 57-57, Colin Reddick’s free throw at the 1:28 mark put Furman ahead 58-57.

Samson put Elon on top for good, connecting on a jumper to go up 59-58 with 1:08 remaining.

Furman (6-15, 3-7) made just one basket the rest of the way while Elon made 5 of 6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal the victory.

The Phoenix shot 52.2 percent (12 of 23) and made 10 of 11 free throws in the second half.

Reddick had a double-double for the Paladins, finishing with game-highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds.
