Letter: Drive safely — with lights on
Sunday, February 10, 2013
It has been a mystery to me since I moved here from the sunnier Southeast why so many people fail to drive with lights on at dawn, dusk and on gray, rainy days. It has become a pet peeve of mine, which is probably why, in the thick fog early one recent morning while driving from Vancouver to Battle Ground and back, I decided to count the cars with no lights on. A total of 66 vehicles, driven without headlights, or even running lights, passed by in the dense fog. I can understand one or two drivers who didn’t realize their lights were off, but 66? Come on Washingtonians, please turn your lights on, at least until July.
