Letter: Public employees work hard

The Columbian
Published: February 10, 2013, 4:00pm

County Commissioner David Madore wants to hire his own private executive assistant? Bad idea. The commissioner and his fellow Republicans wage war on public employees (joined by Columbian Editor Lou Brancaccio in his columns) and campaign to reduce public expenditures, then enter office and find themselves with a shortage of support services. So be it. Welcome to the reality they have created.

Public employees have long worked very hard with insufficient monetary and human resources to do the job as well as it could be done with better resources. The commissioner can live with the reality of public employment.
