Ennis leads Long Beach St. past CS Fullerton 85-65

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — James Ennis had 26 points and 15 rebounds and Long Beach State won its 24th straight conference game at home, defeating Cal State Fullerton 85-65 Wednesday night.

It was also win No. 100 at Long Beach for coach Dan Monson (100-86), whose victory total trails only Jerry Tarkanian (122-20) and Seth Greenberg (105-70) at the school.

Tony Freeland added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the 49ers (15-9, 11-2 Big West), who haven’t lost a conference home game since 2010. Dan Jennings and Peter Pappageorge each scored 12 points, and Keala King had 10.

Sammy Yeager and Kwame Vaughn scored 18 points apiece for Cal State Fullerton (12-12, 5-7).

The game was tied early in the second half when Long Beach scored 13 straight points to go ahead 59-46. After a 3-pointer by Yeager, the 49ers rattled off 12 more points to make it 71-49 with 9:09 remaining.
