Radford downs Virginia Military Institute 82-79

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Javonte Green scored 20 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Radford to an 82-79 victory over Virginia Military Institute in a Big South Conference game on Wednesday night.

Rashun Davis scored 18 points, R.J. Price had 16 and Ya Ya Anderson 10 for the Highlanders (12-14, 6-6), who have won two straight after a three-game losing streak.

Stan Okoye scored 30 points with 10 rebounds, D.J. Covington had 16 points and Rodney Glasgow 15 for the Keydets (11-12, 6-5), who have lost two of their past four games.

Radford shot 9 of 23 on 3-pointers to VMI’s 6 of 21.

Glasgow’s 3-pointer gave VMI a 61-58 lead with 8:13 left, but Davis’ jumper pushed Radford ahead 65-63 with 6:07 remaining. Covington’s free throws tied it at 74 at the 3:02 mark, but Davis made a layup for a decisive 76-74 lead at 2:23.
