Letter: Drivers could use more reminders

Reading the Feb. 12 editorial, “Helping inform motorists: Highway message boards could include locally oriented updates,” I strongly support more efficient use of highway message boards. Kudos to those in law enforcement and Washington state Department of Transportation who have promoted this idea.

I would like to see a reminder, via these signs, to drivers to put their lights on when it rains. Most drivers do but those who do not pose a traffic hazard in my opinion. When visibility is impaired, this is the law in California but the law is not specific enough here in Washington state, which seems ironic to me considering our weather.
