Niagara halts 3-game skid, beats Marist 57-54

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) -- Juan'ya Green scored 20 points, including the winning 3-pointer with 2 seconds left, as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference leader Niagara ended a three-game losing streak by defeating Marist 57-54 Friday night.

The Purple Eagles (15-11, 11-4) led 50-42 with 7:09 left after two 3-pointers and two free throws by Green in a span of 1:13, but the Red Foxes (7-19, 4-11) tied it by scoring the next eight points, six on free throws.

Marist later erased a four-point Niagara lead for a 54-54 tie with 34 seconds left.

Green, a sophomore, reached 1,018 career points and junior Marvin Jordan, who had 10 points, made two 3-pointers, giving him 200 for his career.

Antoine Mason, the Purple Eagles' leading scorer, missed his third straight game with a sprained ankle.

Adam Kemp scored 17 points to lead Marist, which had beaten MAAC contenders Iona and Loyola (Md.) in its last two games.
