CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Nik Cochran scored 18 points to lead five players in double figures, and Davidson built a 16-point halftime lead and went on to defeat The Citadel 72-59 Saturday night to clinch the Southern Conference South Division.
Chris Czerapowicz had 14 points, Jake Cohen 13 and J.P. Kuhlman and Tyler Kalinoski had 10 each for the Wildcats (19-7, 14-1), who have won 10 straight games, including a 75-59 win over College of Charleston on Thursday.
Mike Groselle scored 21 points and P.J. Horgan chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (6-19, 3-12), who have lost four in a row after a two-game winning streak.
Cochran, who leads the nation in free-throw shooting, made 5 of 5 from the line. He has made 95 of 100 this season.
Davidson was 24 of 47 from the field, 8 of 18 on 3-pointers and 16 of 18 from the line.
