EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State says offensive coordinator Dan Roushar is leaving to become the running backs coach for the New Orleans Saints.

Roushar says in a release that this is an opportunity he can’t pass up, but he says he thinks Michigan State is poised to have a “tremendous” season in 2013.

Roushar was promoted from offensive line coach after the 2010 season. He has been on Mark Dantonio’s Michigan State staff for six seasons and also worked under him as an offensive line coach at Cincinnati.

Dantonio says Roushar has “played a critical role in helping build a solid foundation” at Michigan State.
