Letter: Commissioner Madore wastes time

The Columbian
Published: February 16, 2013, 4:00pm

I was hoping I was wrong when I feared that if David Madore won the election for Clark County commissioner, he would try to turn the entire focus of the commissioners on the Columbia River Crossing. It’s a project that they really have no official involvement in, and I’m so disappointed that he’s wasting commissioners’ and staff time and money with his obsession about light rail.

I’m thankful that one commissioner and our three local Democratic legislators are thinking of the future of the county and the economic boost that a safe, reliable, interstate transportation system will bring to our troubled area. I hope that Gov. Jay Inslee, and Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., will appreciate the efforts that Commissioner Steve Stuart is making to attend to the real county business and do all he can to bring more jobs to Clark County.
