Ingram, NC Central rebound to beat SC State 71-52

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Jeremy Ingram scored 26 points and North Carolina Central rebounded from an abysmal offensive performance to down South Carolina State 71-52 Monday night in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.

The Eagles (18-7, 11-1) had their 11-game winning streak snapped by Savannah State 44-36 on Saturday when they shot just 30.8 percent from the field.

North Carolina Central bounced back by making 49 percent (25 of 51) Monday, including 8 of 13 from 3-point range. Ingram led the way on 9-of-14 shooting, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range. Stanton Kidd added 13 points, Ray Willis 11 and Emanuel Chapman had 10 assists as the Eagles nearly doubled their offensive output from the Savannah State loss.

Adama Adams led South Carolina State (5-19, 1-10) with 13 points and Khalif Toombs added 11 as the Bulldogs shot just 32.7 percent (18 of 55) from the field.
