BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California coach Mike Montgomery has been reprimanded by the Pac-12 for shoving one of his own players in the chest during a game.

Commissioner Larry Scott said Monday coaches are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects on their school and conference. Montgomery will not be suspended by the conference but has received an undisclosed punishment.

The confrontation happened during a timeout early in the second half of Cal’s 76-68 win over Southern California on Sunday night when Montgomery yelled at star guard Allen Crabbe for nonchalant play and then shoved him in the chest with both hands.

Cal Athletic Director Sandy Barbour called Montgomery’s actions unacceptable and he has apologized.
