MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Derrick Williams hasn’t even been in the NBA for two full seasons and he’s already become an old hand at handling trade rumors.

The Minnesota Timberwolves forward says he “won’t be surprised either way” if he is traded by Thursday’s deadline, or if he stays with the team that drafted him No. 2 overall in 2011. Almost since he arrived in Minnesota, Williams’ name has come up in trade rumors.

But he says that he quickly found out that is all part of the business, and he remains focused on helping the Timberwolves. The Wolves have lost 16 times in their past 19 games as injuries have started to take their toll.

Williams has been playing better lately, averaging 16.0 points and 7.8 rebounds in the past five games.
