Brooks scores 15 as Davidson pounds Furman 73-36

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) — De’Mon Brooks and Jake Cohen posted double-doubles, and Davidson used 10-point and 15-point runs for a 27-point halftime lead and beat Furman 73-36 on Wednesday.

Brooks had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Cohen scored 12 points with 11 rebounds for the Wildcats (20-7, 15-1 Southern Conference), who won their 11 consecutive game. They already had clinched the South Division.

Davidson has won 20 games or more in seven of the past nine seasons.

Larry Wideman scored 18 points for the Paladins (6-20, 3-12), who have lost seven straight. They last lost seven consecutive games in 2008-09, when they had losing streaks of eight and seven games during a 1-15 stretch. Furman has lost six straight and 32 of 33 to Davidson.

Davidson shot 27 of 61 from the field to Furman’s 11 of 44, and 8 of 22 from 3-point range to the Paladins’ 3 of 9.
