IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Daman Starring scored 16 points and Adam Folker had 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 68-59 victory against Pacific on Wednesday night.

Will Davis II added 13 points and Michael Wilder 12 for the Anteaters (15-13, 9-6 Big West).

Tony Gill scored 17 points off the bench and Lorenzo McCloud added 11 for the Tigers (15-11, 9-5), whose slim hopes for the Big West’s regular-season title likely took a final hit. Pacific fell 312 games behind Long Beach State and has four conference games remaining.

The Tigers shot 19 of 57 (33.3 percent) from the field.

The game was tied at 38-all in the second half when Wilder made the first of UC Irvine’s six 3-pointers in the next 5:11. Wilder and Travis Souza had two each during the surge, and when Starring hit from behind the arc, the Anteaters led 58-46 with 6:29 remaining.

Pacific got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
