Vaughn leads CS Fullerton past Cal Poly 77-60

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Kwame Vaughn had 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Cal State Fullerton defeated Cal Poly 77-60 Wednesday night.

Vaughn was 6 of 12 from the floor and 10 of 13 from the line. D.J. Seeley added 21 points for the Titans (13-13, 6-8 Big West), who overcame back-to-back 20-point losses last week by shooting 56 percent from the field against the Mustangs (12-12, 8-6).

Chris O’Brien had 13 points and a career-high nine rebounds for Cal Poly, which was seeking its first four-game winning streak in two years. Kyle Odister added 11 points. The Mustangs fell to 2-11 away from home and 1-6 in Big West road games.

Cal State Fullerton dominated inside, outscoring Cal Poly 38-22 in the paint despite getting outrebounded 34-30. The Titans led by as many as 21 points in the first half en route to a 40-23 halftime lead and cruised from there.
