Hummer leads Princeton past Cornell 72-53

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Ian Hummer scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Princeton to a 72-53 win over Cornell on Saturday night.

Will Barrett finished with 13 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers (14-9, 7-2 Ivy League), who have won three of their last four games. Denton Koon had 11 points.

Princeton never trailed against the Big Red (13-14, 5-5), who lost their second straight. The Tigers took a 27-9 lead when Hummer scored on a layup with 4:28 left in the first half.

Princeton went into halftime with a 33-14 lead. Barrett knocked down a 3-pointer to open the second half to give the Tigers a 36-14 lead — their largest of the game.

Cornell cut the deficit to seven points midway through the second half, but didn’t pose a threat the rest of the way.

Shonn Miller scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Big Red.
