AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Cady Lalanne scored a career-high 22 points and his 14 rebounds tied his career best as Massachusetts snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating Dayton 76-66 Saturday.

Chaz Williams’ layup with 5:12 remaining put the Minutemen (17-9, 7-6 Atlantic 10 Conference) ahead to stay, 62-60. Following a turnover, Williams assisted on Sampson Carter’s layup 26 seconds later, one of his nine assists.

The Flyers (14-12, 4-8), who remained winless through six Atlantic 10 road games, used an 11-0 run to lead 54-51 with 11:14 to play. But they were held to six points in the final 8 minutes.

Terrell Vinson, who finished with 13 points for Massachusetts, matched those six points himself with a pair of 3-pointers in the final 2 minutes. Freddie Riley added 12 points for the Minutemen.

Vee Sanford led Dayton with 14 points and Josh Benson had 12.
