SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Eric Hinske and Martin Prado combined for five of Arizona’s 14 hits and five RBIs to lead the Diamondbacks over the Colorado Rockies 8-6 on Sunday.
Hinske, who signed as a free agent in December, had three singles and drove in two runs. Prado, acquired via trade in the offseason, drove in three runs with a pair of hits, including a two-run double during Arizona’s five-run fourth. Prado has four RBIs in his first two spring games.
Corey Dickerson hit a two-run homer in the sixth for Colorado, and Jose Gonzalez, Matt McBride and Kyle Parker each had run-scoring hits during a four-run eighth.
Jeff Francis, who won 17 games in 2007 but is 20-39 with a 5.06 ERA since, allowed two hits in two scoreless innings for the Rockies.
Patrick Corbin tossed two scoreless innings for Arizona. He struck out four straight hitters after allowing a walk to leadoff hitter Tim Wheeler.
