Houston Baptist beats New Orleans 65-52

HOUSTON (AP) — Dauson Womack had 15 points and 12 rebounds Monday night and Houston Baptist defeated New Orleans 65-52 Monday night for its eighth consecutive win.

Art Bernardi scored 14 points, all in the second half, for the Huskies (12-14) in the nonconference game. Rob Lewis added 12 points.

Rarlensee Nelson led the Privateers (8-17) with 18 points. Kevin Hill had 12 rebounds.

Houston Baptist made only 27 percent of its shots in the first half and New Orleans led 24-23. The Huskies shot 50 percent after halftime to finish at 38 percent for the game.

New Orleans, an independent, has lost three in a row and fell to 0-12 on the road. The Privateers have one game remaining, Sunday at Texas-Pan American.
