In anticipation of the opening of Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School next fall, Evergreen Public Schools is working with the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, Evergreen School District Foundation and others on a community-wide reading of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by author Rebecca Skloot.

The first discussion will be 7 p.m. March 20 in the Community Room at Cascade Park Community Library.

Free books will be available beginning March 1 at the Cascade Park Community Library, the downtown Vancouver Community Library and in the main office at Evergreen, Heritage, Mountain View and Union high schools, and Cascade, Covington, Frontier, Pacific, Shahala and Wy’east middle schools. Books are being provided by the Evergreen School District Foundation and private donations.

People are encouraged to pass the book to someone else to read or return it to the library. Returned books will be donated to the Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School. For information, visit Evergreen Public Schools.
