Bailey helps Lehigh pound Navy 72-43, end skid

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — B.J. Bailey scored 17 points to lead Lehigh in a 72-43 rout of Navy on Wednesday night, snapping the Mountain Hawks’ three-game Patriot League losing streak.

Lehigh (19-8, 9-4), which also trounced the Midshipmen 71-49 on Jan. 30, shot 54.2 percent in the first half (13 of 24) to take a 36-17 lead into intermission. The Mountain Hawks expanded their lead to 35 in the second half, again going 13 of 24.

Stefan Cvrkalj added 12 points, Holden Greiner 11 and Gabe Knutson 10 for Lehigh, which dished out 20 assists and committed seven turnovers. The Mountain Hawks outrebounded Navy 30-22, including 11 offensive boards, to win their seventh consecutive game in the series.

The Midshipmen have lost two straight and nine of their past 10 games. Worth Smith, with 11 points, was the only player in double figures for Navy (8-21, 2-11), which shot 39 percent (16 of 41).
