WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Tim Rusthoven hit the second of two potential game-winning free throws and William & Mary completed a season sweep of UNC Wilmington 73-72 Wednesday night.

The Tribe (13-15, 7-10 Colonial Athletic Association) led 72-66 late, but the Seahawks (10-19, 5-12) got 3-pointers from Keith Rendleman with 9 seconds left and Tanner Milson with 1.6 seconds remaining to tie it 72-72.

After Milson’s trey, Matt Rum inbounded to Rusthoven with a court-length, baseball pass, and UNC Wilmington’s Chris Dixon fouled Rusthoven as he went for a layup.

With 0.4 seconds showing, Rusthoven missed the first but made the second free throw. The Seahawks’ ensuing half-court shot banged off the backboard, and likely came too late to have counted regardless.

Brandon Britt, Marcus Thornton and Rusthoven each had 17 points for the Tribe.

Rendleman led UNC Wilmington with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

William & Mary won the teams’ first contest 92-86.
