RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Ryan Sypkens scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead UC Davis to a 59-52 victory over UC Riverside on Thursday night.

J.T. Adenrele added 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Aggies (13-14, 8-7 Big West), who remained in sixth place in the conference standings with three regular-season games left.

Chris Patton scored 14 points and Davin Guinn had nine for the Highlanders (6-22, 3-12), and Robert Smith grabbed 11 rebounds. Riverside shot just 38 percent from the floor, although Davis (42 percent) wasn’t much better.

The Aggies took the lead for good midway through the first half and led 37-22 at halftime. They stretched the lead to as many as 18 in the second half before the Highlanders pulled within six points in the closing minutes.
